There’s nothing like the smell of homemade bread wafting in warm, delicious waves through your home. It brings on the feeling of pure comfort. When it’s time to eat your fluffy creation, that same comfort fills your belly, too. And, if you want to add a little kick to your bread, just throw in some Clarksburg!

This recipe weaves sweet, fruity undertones into the earthy flavors of a classic quick bread. As a bonus, you get a subtle alcohol infusion with the can of Clarksburg Semi-Sweet Hard Cider. While the alcohol usually bakes off, the remaining trace adds a nuanced depth to the bread’s overall flavor.

Cider also helps enhance that cozy, earthy essence we all enjoy in bread. The fermentation process of hard cider creates an “earthy” tone to complement the hearty nature of the bread, resulting in the ultimate comfort food.

The addition of our semi-sweet hard cider also balances the taste of sweetness with hints of tartness. It levels up the complexity of flavors in your bread without all the work—seriously, this recipe is super simple. In addition to the single can of cider, you probably have the other five ingredients already stocked in your kitchen.

The actual process is incredibly easy! Because this bread recipe doesn’t use yeast, you don’t need to worry about setting aside time for your dough to rise. The ingredients mixed with the bubbly cider gives the bread just what it needs. All you need to do is mix, bake, cool, and ENJOY.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab those simple ingredients and let’s get baking. But beware, after making your first loaf, friends and family may start showing up unannounced for more of your mouthwatering cider bread.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Total time: 1 hour
Yield: 1 loaf of bread
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 ½ tsp. salt
4 tbsp. melted butter
3 tbsp. maple syrup
1 can of cold Clarksburg Semi-Sweet Hard Cider
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease the inside of your bread pan (9” x 5” pan recommended).

Step 2
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients (minus the cider) until mixed well.

Step 3
When ingredients are mixed, add the entire 12 oz. can of Clarksburg Semi-Sweet Hard Cider to the bowl. Make sure the cider is cold when added.

Step 4
Stir until the mixture has a doughy consistency.

Step 5
Add dough mixture to your greased bread pan.

Step 6
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Test to see if the bread is done by sticking a toothpick in it. If no dough sticks to the toothpick, remove from the oven.

Step 7
Allow bread to cool before removing it from the pan.

Recommend serving with maple butter.
