Cider may not be the first ingredient that comes to mind when you think of a Bloody Mary, but its inclusion in this classic cocktail elevates the flavor profile in unexpected ways.

The Bloody Mary cocktail has been around for more than 100 years, with various stories circulating about the cocktail’s origin. While we cheat in this recipe by using pre-made Bloody Mary mix, you can also easily make your own with a base of tomato juice, adding in lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and hot sauce. There are plenty of “from scratch” recipes available, but what makes ours special is adding in our bubbly SHOUT! Hard Cider.

The bold flavors of a traditional Bloody Mary join the crisp apple notes of Clarksburg SHOUT! Hard Cider for a little extra sweetness and depth. Plus, tomatoes and apples are both round, red fruits … so they’re more similar than you might think.

While you can garnish with anything you choose, we suggest trying out the quick-pickled apples from our Roasted Pork Loin recipe.
