We love a margarita any time of the year, and adding a little carbonated hard cider to the mix can lighten the overall feel of the cocktail. This cocktail calls for 1 ½ ounces of tequila and 2 to 3 ounces of Clarksburg Tequila Barrel-Aged Hard Cider. You could also use our Dry or Semi-Sweet hard cider varieties in this recipe as well. Just be aware that whichever cider you choose will change the flavor of the cocktail slightly. Our Tequila Barrel-Aged hard cider will boost the tequila flavor, our Dry cider will balance out the sweetness of the triple sec, and our Semi-Sweet cider will make the acidity of the lime juice less prominent.

If you’d like, rim your margarita glass with coarse salt, sugar, or even chile-lime seasoning. After you rim the glass, fill it with ice cubes and let it chill. Add the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec to a cocktail shaker with ice. If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, use a mason jar or even a water bottle. We do not recommend using a travel coffee mug because the coffee flavor can linger and may interfere with the cocktail flavoring. After you shake up your ‘rita and get it nice and cool, strain it into your glass. Top with Tequila Barrel-Aged hard cider, garnish with a lime wedge (or apple slice!), and enjoy.
