Our recipe creator decided to make Apple Crescent Cups instead of an entire apple pie because she assumed there was no way she and her husband would eat the whole pie. This way, they could give the individual cups away to friends and family. But be warned … these apple delights turned out so good, the pair ended up eating them all anyway!

These Apple Crescent Cups are made with Clarksburg Vanilla Spice Hard Cider, but you can also substitute our Semi-Sweet or Dry varieties. The homemade apple mixture is the key to making this dessert shine. By making your own filling, you control which apples you choose (we like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp, but any firm, tart variety will do) and can adjust the spice level to your liking. Plus, cooking the apples in our cider gives them an extra infusion of flavor.

After you make the apple filling, you’re nearly finished. We recommend using pre-made honey butter crescent rolls for the pastry crust. Simply arrange the pre-cut triangles from the crescent rolls into the individual cups in a cupcake tin. After baking, sprinkle them with powdered sugar for a final homemade touch.
Prep time: 30 minutes
Total time: 45 minutes
Yield: 8–10 pastries
¾ c. + 2 tbsp. Vanilla Spice Hard Cider, divided
3 – 4 c. apples, sliced
1 tbsp. + ½ tsp. cornstarch, divided
¼ tsp. salt
1 tbsp. unsalted butter
⅓ c. brown sugar packed
½ tsp. cinnamon
1 pack of honey butter crescent rolls
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Step 1
Preheat oven according to the directions on your crescent roll package.

Step 2
Add apples and 1 ½ cups of cider in a large skillet. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring often for about 5 – 7 minutes until apples are almost translucent.

Step 3
Remove apples from the pan and reserve cooking liquid in the pan. In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and salt before adding 2 tablespoons of cold cider.

Step 4
Add this cornstarch mixture to the hot liquid in the pan. Cook over medium-low heat until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes. Add the butter and stir until melted.

Step 5
Remove from heat and add the apples back to the hot liquid. Let cool for 5 – 10 minutes.

Step 6
While your apple mixture is cooling, form the cut triangles from the crescent rolls into individual cups in a cupcake tin.

Step 7
Fill each cup with the apple mixture.

Step 8
Bake according to the directions for the crescent rolls, until the dough is golden brown (about 10 – 14 minutes).

Step 9
Allow the cups to cool for 5 – 10 minutes before sprinkling with powdered sugar and serving.
